UMSL Women’s Hoops Has Four Players Named Academic All-District

ST. LOUIS – Four University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball student-athletes have been named to the College Sports Communicators 2024-25 Academic All-District team.

Representing the Tritons are Audrey Martinez-Stewart, Morgan Ramthun, Mara Rieder and Kate Rolfes. The Academic All-America teams will be announced on April 16.

To be eligible for Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in eligibility and academically with a 3.5 or better cumulative grade point average and have competed in at least 90 percent of the team's games played or started in at least two-thirds of the team's total contests.

Martinez-Stewart is a chemistry major with a 3.50 GPA. She started all 28 games this season averaging 5.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per game and led the team in assists with 86 and steals with 59. Martinez-Stewart scored a season-high 13 points in the win against UIndy on Dec. 5 and had a season-high nine assists in the win at Illinois Springfield on Nov. 30.

Ramthun is a nursing major with a 3.71 GPA. She started all 28 games this season averaging 8.6 points per game while leading the team and was third in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with her 8.7 rebounds per contest and was second on the team with her 63 assists. Ramthun scored a career-high 21 points in the win at Illinois Springfield on Nov. 30 and grabbed a season-high 15 boards at UHSP on Nov. 15. She finished the season with five double-doubles.

Rieder is an electrical engineering major with a 3.64 GPA. She appeared in all 28 games this year averaging 10 points and 4.4 rebounds per game and led the team with 24 blocked shots. Rieder reached double figures in scoring 14 times this season highlighted by a season-high 20-point performance in the win at UIndy on February 8. She had a season-high 12 rebounds in the win at Maryville on Jan. 23.

Rolfes is finishing her master's degree in education and has a GPA of 3.75. She started all 28 games this season for the Tritons and was the team's top three-point shooter making 73 which also ranked second in the GLVC. Rolfes was second on the team in scoring with 10.5 points per outing and finished the season with 39 assists and 16 steals. She scored an UMSL career-high with 20 points in a win over Kentucky Wesleyan on Nov. 22 and matched that with 20 points against McKendree on Feb. 1. Rolfes reached double figures in scoring 15 times this season.

UMSL finished its season with a record of 19-9 including 13-7 in the GLVC and advanced to the GLVC Tournament for the fourth time in the past five years.
