ST. LOUIS – University of Missouri-St. Louis freshman
Logan Mayo won the first event of his collegiate career by finishing first with a score of 211 (71-70-70) at the Findianapolis Intercollegiate at Chariot Run Golf Club on Tuesday in Laconia, Ind. The Tritons finished fifth overall with a total team score of 879 (291-294-294).
Mayo entered the day in a three-way tie for the top spot. He was three shots under par in the final round through 17 holes and held a two-shot lead over Saginaw Valley's Evan Klein. Mayo bogeyed his final hole, hole nine, to settle but won by one-shot win over Klein and finished with a 54-hole score of 211 (71-70-70) to claim medalist honors.
Benjamin Berger finished in a tie for 20th with a final score of 222 (70-77-75),
Leo Baudry was tied for 28th at 225 (75-75-75) and
Dani Solavera finished in a tie for 32nd at 226 (77-72-77).
The Tritons play their final event of the regular season next Monday and Tuesday as they travel down to Pensacola, Fla., for the West Florida Argonaut Invitational at the Pensacola Country Club.
