BOLIVAR, Mo. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team earned the top seed in Tuesday's Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) match play after finishing first in the 54-hole stroke play.
The Tritons posted a team score of 864 (302-281-281) and finished seven strokes ahead of Missouri S&T (303-284-284) in the 13-team field.
UMSL will face No. 4 seed UIndy in Tuesday's semifinal at 8 a.m., while S&T will face No. 3 seed Lewis. The winners of the two semifinals will meet in the afternoon for the GLVC team title. The Tritons are in match play for the 11th straight year.
Individually,
Trigg Lindahl and
Logan Mayo finished in the top 10 of the championship. Lindahl finished with a score of 214 (72-67-75) to finish tied for third with S&T's Cole Komyati to earn All-GLVC honors. Mayo was tied for sixth at 216 (78-71-67).
Dani Solavera finished in a tie for 12th with a score of 219 (74-71-74),
Benjamin Berger finished a shot behind Solavera at 220 (78-72-70) and was tied for 14th while
Leo Baudry was tied for 19th at 221 (79-72-70).
Andy Hennen, competing as an individual, shot a 236 (79-78-79).
Lewis' Cody Donovan was the individual medalist with a final score of 210 (74-69-67) winning by three shots over UIndy's Cameron Young.
