UMSL’s Scott Worley Named Finalist For The Strickland Award

ST. LOUIS – University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's assistant women's golf coach Scott Worley has been named a finalist for the 2025 Jan Strickland Outstanding Assistant Coach Award presented by TaylorMade Golf Company.

The Strickland Award is presented annually to the NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, or NJCAA assistant coach that, among other things, has excelled in working with their student-athletes both on the course and in the classroom.

Two assistant coaches, one Division I and one non-Division I, will be named 2025 Jan Strickland Outstanding Assistant Coach Award presented by TaylorMade Golf Company recipients. Bo Andrews of Tennessee, Matt Fast of Texas A&M, Noah Goldman of North Carolina, and Thomas Sutton of Arizona State are the Division I finalists. Worley and Ryan Stefko of Menlo (NCAA Division II) are the non-Division I finalists.

Worley has assisted Director of Golf Operations Troy Halterman with both UMSL golf programs (men and women) since August 2023, with the Tritons currently ranked No. 28 and No. 19, respectively, via Scoreboard powered by Clippd. The men, who have had two Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Men's Golf Player of the Week recipients this season, have doubled their top-five team finishes from last season (four to eight) and will be the No. 4 seed in next week's NCAA Central/Midwest Regional, looking to avenge their 13th-place finish last year. The women, who finished inside the top three once last season, have two wins and six other top-three finishes this season. They have been led on the course by Wilma Zanderau, who was named GLVC Women's Golf Player of the Week five times this season and was runner-up at the GLVC Women's Golf Championship. Zanderau was a 2024 WGCA Second Team All-American and finished T10 as an individual at the 2024 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship. Worley has coached a combined 11 GLVC Golf Player of the Week (9 W, 2 M) and six All-GLVC selections (5 W, 1 M) for his alma mater.

TaylorMade Golf Company has sponsored the Jan Strickland Outstanding Assistant Coach Award since its inception in 2003.
