ST. LOUIS – The No. 26 University of Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team shot a 295 on Tuesday and moved up four spots to 16th with a score of 602 (307-295) after the second round of the NCAA Championships at PGA National Resort – Champions Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Dani Solavera led the way for the Tritons in Tuesday's round shooting an even par 72 to remain at +8 for the tournament with a total score of 152 (80-72).
Logan Mayo shot a 73 and is tied for 40th overall with a score of 147 (74-73).
Trigg Lindahl shot a second straight round of 76 and is tied with Solavera at 152 (76-76).
Leo Baudry shot a 74 and has a total score of 155 (81-74) while
Benjamin Berger shot a 77 and has a total score of 154 (77-77).
North Georgia's Hunter Smith is the individual leader through 36 holes with a score of 138 (71-67) and has a one-shot lead over Wingate's Lewis Beeden heading into Wednesday's final round of stroke play. Missouri S&T sits atop the team leaderboard with a total team score of 569 (289-280) and is three shots in front of West Florida and St. Mary's (Texas).
The top eight teams in the final standings advance to the match play portion of the championships starting on Thursday with quarterfinal matches starting in the morning followed by semifinal matches in the afternoon. The championship match will be held on Friday.
The third and final round of stroke play tees off at 6:30 a.m. (CDT) on Wednesday with UMSL scheduled to begin teeing off at 7:25 a.m. (CDT).
