Devon Sanders Named Assistant Athletic Director For Facilities And Sport Administration

ST. LOUIS – University of Missouri-St. Louis Executive Director of Athletics Dr. Holly Sheilley announced this that Devon Sanders has been hired as the new Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities and Sport Administration.

Sanders spent the past two years serving as the pitching coach/recruiting coordinator for the baseball team at Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky. In addition to that role he also served as the concessions manager for the athletics department, oversaw the department's van maintenance and assisted the athletic communications staff with numerous gameday duties.

"Having worked with him previously, I have witnessed firsthand his passion, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the student-athlete experience. His background as both a coach and an administrator bring a valuable perspective that aligns perfectly with our mission. Devon's leadership and experience will play a key role in advancing our vision for Triton Athletics."

As the pitching coach for the Pioneers he helped guide the team to the most single season wins in school history with 34 in 2024 which included serving as a regional host and finished as the regional runner-up.

Prior to his arrival in Lexington, Sanders was an assistant coach at his alma mater at the Pennsylvania College of Technology, where he served for one season. Under his leadership the Wildcat pitching staff finished second in the United East Conference in ERA and strikeouts. Penn College finished the season 22-20 overall and went 14-6 in the United East, finishing second in the overall standings.

Two Wildcat pitchers earned United East All-Conference honors under Sanders in 2023 and he was named the Penn College Assistant Coach of the Year.

Before returning to his alma mater, Sanders was an Assistant Coach at Juniata College from 2019-2022. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, he also worked in Athletic Operations and Event Management as well as served as an administrator for the 2021 Women's Volleyball Final Four.

In Sanders playing days at the Pennsylvania College of Technology, he put his name in the record books. After graduating in 2019, he had the most appearances in school history, he had the most career wins in school history, second most innings pitched in school history, and second most career saves in school history. He also reached 100 career strikeouts.

Sanders earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration with concentration in sport and event management from Penn College in 2019 and received his master's degree in organizational leadership from Juniata College in December 2021.
