ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team was one of 19 NCAA Division II schools to earn Presidents Special Recognition status by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
The Tritons recorded a 3.50 GPA this past academic year. This marks the sixth straight year and the seventh time in the last eight years that UMSL has earned Presidents Special Recognition and is the 12th straight year the program has been honored for its academic success by the GCAA.
292 schools across all three NCAA divisions, the NAIA and NJCAA submitted GPA's of 3.0 or above to earn the association's Academic Team Award, with 129 of those schools earning Presidents Special Recognition Honors, finishing with a team GPA of 3.5 and above.
Harvard (Division I), Findlay (Division II), Bowdoin (Division III), SCAD-Savannah (NAIA), Iowa Western (NJCAA Division I), Southwestern (Iowa) (NJCAA Division II) and Alabama State (HBCU) were all named Academic National Champions for finishing with the top GPA in their respective divisions, announced by the GCAA.
UMSL also earned the Team Academic All-GLVC award and had seven student-athletes earn individual Academic All-GLVC accolades.
