INDIANAPOLIS – Both the University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's tennis teams have been picked second in their respective GLVC East Division Preseason Coaches Poll, announced today by the conference office.
The preseason polls were voted on by the league head coaches and ranks teams in both the East and West Divisions. The 2026 season will feature a divisional schedule in which every school plays every divisional opponent in a standard round-robin format.
The Triton men finished last season with a record of 12-8 including 4-1 in the GLVC and advanced to the semifinal round of the GLVC Tournament losing to GLVC runners-up Rockhurst 4-3. UMSL returns eight players from last season's team led by seniors
Tanin Ramnath and
Percy Siercke. Also returning are sophomores
Henry Roberts,
Daniel Berdecio and
Bautista Rooney.
The Triton women were 10-7 including 3-2 in the GLVC and advanced to the conference tournament for the second straight year. They lost to Drury in the first round of the conference tournament and return six of their singles players including seniors
Hannah Tse and
Anna Favaron. Tse was a first-team All-GLVC selection last season.
UMSL's women's team opens its 2026 season this Sunday against Southeast Missouri State at the Mizzou Tennis Complex at noon. UMSL's men's tennis team opens its 2026 season next Saturday against Saint Louis University at the Missouri Athletic Club West at 4 p.m.
