SPRING, TEXAS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team finished in a tie for seventh out of 15 teams with a total team score of 918 (308-305-305) on Tuesday at the Southern Invite hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma at Cypresswood Golf Club in Spring, Texas.
Emmy Wahl shot the low round of the day for the Tritons with a 73 to finish the tournament with a 54-hole score of 235.
Hillary Currier and
Mayan Covarrubias both shot final round scores of 77. Currier finished in a tie for 14th overall at 226 (75-74-77 – 226) while Covarrubias had a final score of 235 (81-77-77).
Wilma Zanderau finished a shot behind Currier in a tie for 16th at 227 after posting a final round score of 78 and
Josefin Hansson had a final score of 242 (81-79-82).
The University of Texas at Tyler's Lucy Kate Smith was the individual medalist with a 54-hole score of 218 (72-72-74) defeating Central Oklahoma's Estela Castillo by two shots. UT-Tyler was crowned the team champions with a total team score of 882 (285-297-300).
UMSL returns to the links March 8 – 10 hosting the Emerald Coast Classic at Sandestin-Baytowne Golf Club in Destin, Fla.
