Tritons Return Home To Face Greyhounds, Flyers

ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball returns to the friendly confines of the Mark Twain Building hosting the University of Indianapolis and Lewis this weekend. The Tritons and Greyhounds meet on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and UMSL squares off with the Flyers on Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Tritons enter Thursday's contest with a record of 16-3 including 12-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and have a one-game lead over Drury atop the conference standings.

UMSL had its nine-game overall and 12-game conference winning streak snapped on Saturday in a 75-68 loss at Illinois Springfield. Mara Rieder had 23 points and a career-high 18 rebounds in the contest.

Rieder continues to lead the league in scoring this season with 19.6 points per contest and blocked shots with 2.2 per game and is second in rebounding at 9.5 per game. Morgan Ramthun and Jayden Kuper rank third and sixth in rebounding with 8.9 and 6.9 per outing respectively. Kuper also ranks third in steals (2.3) and eighth in scoring with 14.1 ppg while Ramthun is tied for 14th at 13.2 points per contest.

Anna Costa Riera continues to lead the league with 4.3 assists per game and is second in total assists with 82 and in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.9.

About UIndy – The Greyhounds enter Thursday night's contest with a overall record of 5-16 including 4-9 in conference play. They're coming off a 30-point win over Lincoln this past Saturday in Indianapolis.

Patricia Chikamba combined for 33 points in UIndy's last two games, bringing her scoring average to 14.9 points per outing which is third best in the conference. Autumn Rucker added 14 points against the Blue Tigers, on 6-of-12 shooting, for her first double digit scoring outing since she had 14 points at Southwest Baptist.

The Hounds have struggled away from Nicoson Hall this season having dropped 11 of 12 road contests.

The Tritons won the first matchup against the Greyhounds this season 60-43 back in December. Rieder had a game-high 18 points while Kuper added 14 points and 14 rebounds.

About Lewis – The Flyers enter Thursday night's game at Lincoln with an overall record of 13-7 but are 9-3 in GLVC play and sit fourth in the conference standings just a half game behind Maryville for third place.

Lewis bounced back after having its 10-game winning streak snapped by Drury last Thursday with a 74-67 win over Missouri S&T last Saturday. Kree Nunnally led four Flyers in double in figures in scoring with a game-high 18 points while Ally Cesarini added 17 points.

Mallory Ramage leads Lewis in scoring this season with an average of 13.5 points per contest while Yahaira Bueno is averaging 12.7 points per contest and leads the GLVC in assists with 84 and is second in assists per game with 4.2 per outing.

UMSL defeated the Flyers 64-62 back in December at Neil Carey Arena as Rieder had a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds in the contest.
