DESTIN, Fla. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team finished 12th out of 17 teams with a total team score of 905 (304-302-299) in the Emerald Coast Classic on Tuesday afternoon at Sandestin Resort and Club in Destin, Fla.
Alaina Ervin, competing as an individual, had the low round of the day for the Tritons shooting a 72 to finish at one over par for the round to finish 41st overall with a final score of 228 (77-79-72).
Wilma Zanderau and
Hillary Currier each shot rounds of 74. Zanderau finished in a tie for 23rd at 221 (74-73-74) while Currier was 25th at 222 (71-77-74).
Mayan Covarrubias shot a 76 to finish with a score of 232 (77-79-76),
Emmy Wahl had a round of 75 to finish at 237 (85-77-75) and
Josefin Hansson shot an 81 and had a final score of 238 (82-75-81).
Texas-Tyler's Lucy Kate Smith won medalist honors with final score of 212 (-1) winning by one shot over West Florida's Millie Thompson and Mississippi College's Sydney Moss. The Patriots also won the team championship with a total team score of 859 (287-281-291).
UMSL is back in action next Monday and Tuesday (March 16-17) competing at the Findlay Spring Invitational at Boone Trace Golf Course in Richmond, Ky.
