Rieder Named to D2CCA All-Midwest Region First Team

ST. LOUIS – University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball junior forward Mara Rieder was selected to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-Midwest Region First Team announced on Thursday morning. The team is voted on by the region's sports information directors.

Rieder leads UMSL and the GLVC in scoring with 20.0 points and 2.3 blocked shots per game and ranks second in rebounds with 9.8 per contest and free throw percentage at 86.4 percent and fourth in field goal percentage at 53.6 percent. Her 226 field goals made are most in the conference this season. Her 15 double-doubles this season is second best in the conference and good for 15th in Division II.

On the national level, Rieder is ninth in field goals, 10th in blocked shots, 11th in blocks and points per game, 13th in total rebounds, 22nd in total points, 24th in rebounds per game and 28th in field goal percentage.

She was the Great Lakes Valley Conference's Player of the Year, a First Team All-GLVC selection and was named GLVC Player of the Week four times this season. Rieder has scored 20 or more points in a game 18 times this season highlighted by a 28-point performance at Parkside back in November.

She averaged 22.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.0 blocks per game in the GLVC Tournament last weekend and was named to the All-Tournament team.

The Tritons, seeded seventh, take on No. 16 Ferris State, seeded second, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday (March 13) at 1:30 p.m. (CDT) at the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale, Mich.
