ST. LOUIS – Five University of Missouri-St. Louis softball student-athletes have been named to the College Sports Communicators 2026 Academic All-District team.
Representing the Tritons are
Ashley Borowitz,
Sasha Buckberger,
Kaytie Kossina,
Phoebe Miller and
May Pasqualini.
Borowitz, a nursing major, has a 4.00 cumulative grade point average. She made 31 appearances with 15 starts in the circle this season going 8-8 with a 3.96 earned run average with five complete games and five saves. In 100.2 innings pitched she struck out 59 batters and held opposing hitters to a .278 batting average. Borowitz struck out a season-high seven batters twice this season against Parkside and Lincoln.
Buckberger, a civil engineering major, has a 3.91 cumulative GPA. She made 20 appearances with 10 starts in the circle going 4-5 with a 5.28 ERA. Buckberger threw one complete game and in 63.2 innings pitched struck out 32 batters. She hit .297 with two doubles, two home runs and drove in seven runs.
Kossina is majoring in civil engineering and has a GPA of 3.89. She started 51 games this season and was second on the team with a .375 batting average and in runs batted in with 31. Kossina was third on the team with 57 hits and tied for third with nine doubles. She was a third team All-GLVC selection.
Miller is an early childhood education major with a 3.92 GPA. She appeared in 48 games with 45 starts this past season mostly at catcher. Miller hit .316 and was second on the team with four home runs while driving in 24 runs and scored 17 runs. She was tied for Kossina with nine doubles. Miller was a second-team All-GLVC selection.
Pasqualini is majoring in early childhood special education and has a GPA of 3.93. She started all 52 games at shortstop this season and was third on the team with her .371 batting average and second in hits with 59 while her 43 runs scored led the team. Her 26 walks led the team and she finished second in stolen bases with seven.
To be eligible for Academic All-District and Academic All-America honors, a student-athlete must have appeared in at least 90 percent of a team's games or started at least 66 percent of the team's games. For pitchers, they must have made 17 appearances or 25 innings pitched. They must have at least a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
The 2026 Academic All-America team for softball will be announced on Tuesday, June 16.
