Columbia, Mo. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Gans Creek Classic at the Gans Creek Cross Country in Columbia, Mo., on Friday morning.
The Triton men finished 20th overall with a total score of 597 and were led by
Julio Cruz Jr., who finished in the top 100 with a time of 26:49.1 over the eight kilometer course. He was followed by
Kebeb Zimmerman at 28:09 and
Armando Montoya at 28:28.0.
Quintin Roach and
Parker Whaley posted times of 32:11.9 and 33:45.1 respectively.
The Triton women were led by
Elektra Alcantar who covered the six kilometer course in a time of 27:05.5. She was followed by
Kali Walker and
Charlotte Fredrick who posted times of 27:09.9 and 27:55.6 respectively while
Zoey Losch finished with a time of 34:44.7.
UMSL is back in action next Saturday (Oct. 3) competing at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Ark., at Agri Park. The men's race gets underway at 10:25 a.m. followed by the women's race at 11 a.m.
