ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team is in sixth place after the first round of the WinStar Invitational at Winstar Golf Club in Thackerville, Okla., on Sunday afternoon. The Tritons finished with an opening round score of 299.
Hillary Currier and
Josefin Hansson led the way for UMSL as each posted a score of 74 and are tied for 14th overall.
Sarah Cuney, making her Triton debut, shot a 75 while
Alaina Ervin had a score of 76.
Hope Williams and
Mayan Covarrubias each shot a 78 while
Brooke Inchiostro, competing as an individual, shot an 81.
Southeastern Oklahoma State's Emma Thompson shot a 68 and holds a one shot lead over her teammate Carley Button and Dallas Baptist's Madison Ude. The Savage Storm sit atop the team leaderboard with a total team score of 289.
The second round of the WinStar Invitational gets underway on Monday morning at the Winstar Golf Club.
