SETTING THE SCENE
It's back to the road for UMSL, who travels to the southwestern part of the state for a pair of GLVC weekend games. The Tritons will face their second straight nationally ranked opponent on Thursday when UMSL visits No. 9 ranked and GLVC West Division co-leader Drury in Springfield, Mo. The Tritons then wrap up the road swing at Missouri S&T on Saturday.
LAST TIME OUT
UMSL is coming off a 69-60 home loss to then No. 18 ranked Quincy last Saturday. The Hawks outscored UMSL 17-4 over the final 7:49 of the first half to hold a 40-26 halftime advantage. The Tritons were just 2-of-8 from the field during that stretch with six turnovers. Senior
Alyssa Like scored a game-high 17 points, but Tritons shot 39.3 percent from the field, while Quincy shot 46.4 percent and held a 36-35 rebounding edge.
SIZING UP THE TRITONS
The Tritons are 11-4 overall, including 4-3 in the GLVC, and sit in fourth place in the GLVC West Division standings. Four players average double figures, including senior
Devonna Smith, who averages 12.9 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. In GLVC-only games, Smith is averaging a double-double with 14.1 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. Senior
Hazaria Washington also averages 12.9 points per game and leads the team with 31 steals, however, she is averaging just 4.7 points per game in the last three outings.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Drury is 14-1 overall, including 6-1 in the GLVC, and sit atop the West Division standings with Quincy. An 85-68 loss to Indianapolis is the only blemish on the Panthers' record. Amber Dvorak leads Drury with 14.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game.
Missouri S&T enters a Thursday game against Maryville with a 6-9 overall record, including a 2-5 mark in the GLVC, sitting in seventh place in the West Division standings. The Lady Miners are led in scoring by Mia Wesley with 16.5 points per game. Missouri S&T is shooting 44.4 percent from the floor, which is fourth in the GLVC.
SERIES HISTORIES
Drury leads the all-time series, 18-1. The two teams split last season - each winning on its homecourt. UMSL posted its first-ever win over the Panthers, 58-56, while Drury won in Springfield, 68-65.
Missouri S&T leads the all-time series, 37-17, and took two of three meetings last season. The Lady Miners won the first meeting, a 57-51 decision in St. Louis, while UMSL post a 68-64 victory in Rolla to snap a six-game losing streak to Missouri S&T. The Lady Miners then posted a 60-47 in first round action of the GLVC Tournament to end the Tritons' season.
OFFENSE WENT COLD
Prior to its three-game losing streak, UMSL was shooting 45.1 percent from the floor, including 35.1 percent from three-point range. However, in its last three losses, the Tritons are just 36.1 percent from the field, including 24.1 percent from beyond the arc.
GLVC LEADERS
UMSL leads the GLVC in three categories, including: scoring defense (56.1 ppg), rebounding defense (32.1), and assist-turnover ratio (1.2).
DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE
UMSL is holding opponents to just 56.1 points per game, which leads the GLVC and is sixth nationally in NCAA Division II. The Tritons have held three opponents to under 40 points this season, including Maryville (35), Harris-Stowe (36) and Culver-Stockton (33).
TAKING CARE OF THE BALL
UMSL is second in the GLVC and 11th nationally in turnovers per game, averaging just 13.5 miscues a contest. They also rank 12th nationally in assist-turnover ratio (1.2).

Senior
Devonna Smith has recorded eight double-doubles this season, which ranks 13th nationally. Smith has 25 in her career.
