LIVE STATS | VIDEO | AUDIO

SETTING THE SCENE
UMSL looks to keep its winning streak alive as it returns home this weekend to host Wisconsin-Parkside on Thursday and defending GLVC Tournament champion Lewis on Saturday. The Tritons have won nine straight and are 3-0 in the league. They are also a perfect 5-0 at home this season.

WHAT A START
With a 10-1 record, UMSL is off to its best start since 1988-89, when that squad began with a 12-1 mark. Its current nine-game win streak is also the longest since a 12-game stretch in '88-89.

NATIONAL RECOGNITION
UMSL received four votes in this week's USA Today Sports NCAA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll. This is the first time since the 1999-2000 season that UMSL has been mentioned in any national poll.  Three GLVC schools are ranked in the top 25, including Drury (sixth), Indianapolis (16th) and Quincy (23rd), while Lewis received 30 votes.

LAST TIME OUT
UMSL improved to 3-0 in the GLVC by claiming a pair of road victories last weekend. The Tritons posted a 69-63 win at McKendree on Friday before pulling out a 73-68 win at Illinois Springfield on Sunday. Senior Devonna Smith posted back-to-back double-doubles in the win, averaging 16.5 points and 15.0 rebounds per game.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Wisconsin-Parkside is 4-6 overall and 0-2 in the GLVC. The Rangers, picked to finish fourth in the GLVC East Division Preseason Coaches Poll, has lost three straight and is coming off a 74-68 home loss to Truman State last Sunday. Four players average double figures for UW-Parkside, including Gaby Bronson, who averages 14.0 points per game to go with 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.

Lewis, which won the 2013 GLVC Tournament championship and was picked to defend its crown in the GLVC East Division Preseason Coaches Poll, enters a Thursday contest at Maryville with an 8-2 overall record, including a 2-0 mark in the GLVC. The Flyers have won five straight and are led by Mariayh Henley's 20.4 points and 13.0 rebounds per game - both of which lead the GLVC.

SIZING UP THE TRITONS
The Tritons are 10-1 overall and 3-0 in the GLVC, sitting atop the West Division standings after being picked to finish seventh in the Preseason Coaches Poll. Four players average double figures, led by senior Hazaria Washington's 14.3 points per game. Washington is coming off a career-high 25 points in the win at Illinois-Springfield. She also averages 6.8 rebounds per game and leads the team with 28 steals.

SERIES HISTORIES
Wisconsin-Parkside owns a 16-9 advantage in the all-time series against UMSL and has
won six straight meetings, including a 69-43 verdict in the last meeting, which came during the 2011-12 season in St. Louis. The Tritons' last win in the series came during the 2005-06 season in Kenosha, Wis., by a score of 67-52.

Lewis leads the all-time series, 19-7. The two teams last met during the 2011-12 season when the Tritons posted a 66-49 win in St. Louis to snap a 10-game losing streak to the Flyers.

An UMSL win over WISCONSIN-PARKSIDE would...
... move the Tritons to 11-1 overall and keep the Tritons perfect in GLVC play at 4-0.
... increase the current win streak to 10 games.
... snap a six-game losing streak to the Rangers and move the Tritons 16-10 in the all-time series.
... keep the Tritons perfect at home this season at 6-0.

GLVC LEADERS
UMSL leads the GLVC in six categories, including: scoring defense (53.2 ppg), scoring margin (+22.5), three-point field goal percentage defense (.250), rebounding defense (30.9), rebounding margin (+11.5) and assist-turnover ratio (1.3).

TEAM REBOUND
The Tritons rank fifth nationally with a rebounding margin of 11.5. UMSL has outrebounded all but one opponent this season – equaling Grand Valley State with 36 boards.

DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Senior Devonna Smith has recorded three straight double-doubles and has recorded five this season. Smith has 22 in her career.

REBOUND THAT BASKETBALL
Senior Devonna Smith ranks fourth all-time in career rebounds with 580. Her 9.2 rebounds per game this season is second in the GLVC. Smith pulled down 253 boards last season, which is fifth on the single season charts, while her 226 during the 2011-12 season is ninth. Additionally, Smith pulled down a career-best 20 caroms at Indianapolis during the 2011-12 season, the third best single game effort in program history.

A LOT TO LIKE
Senior transfer Alyssa Like has been a welcomed addition to the Tritons line-up this season. She is averaging 10.5 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. She also leads the GLVC and ranks third nationally in NCAA Division II in free throw shooting percentage at 94.6 percent (35-of-37).

AN ASSIST FROM MCGOVERN
Junior Kelly McGovern comes off the bench to average a team-best 3.4 assists per game. Last season she was the first player since 2009-10 to record more than 100 assists in a season, finishing with 110.
