KILLEN, ALA. – Freshman
Kaylor Steger carded a team-best 223 to lead the No. 23 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team at the TVA Credit Union Invitational, hosted by North Alabama, on Monday and Tuesday.
The Tritons shot 906 (300-300-306) as a team to record an 11
th place finish in the 17-team field. Lee won the event with a seven-under par 857.
Steger shot rounds of 74, 77 and 72 to finish in a tie for 27
th place, while junior
Colby Yates was two strokes behind in a tie for 29
th place with a 225 (77-72-76).
Also for the Tritons, sophomore
Matt Barry carded a 228 (77-74-77; T42nd), while junior
Anthony Cope shot a 230 (72-77-81; T48th). Freshman
Stephan Sorg rounded out the scoring with a 225 (83-85-87; 81st).
Medalist honors went to Lee's Taylor Davis, who shot a 10-under par 206 (67-71-68), to win by nine strokes.
UMSL will conclude the fall portion of its schedule Oct. 27-28 at the Puerto Rico Classic.
