BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The No. 22 University of Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team finished in a tie for fifth out of 17 teams with a total team score of 844 (285-285-274) on Tuesday in the National Preview at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.
The Tritons score of 274 in the final round is tied for the second lowest score in a round in school history.
Dani Solavera shot the lowest round of the day for UMSL finishing with a 67 to finish in a tie for 11th overall with a score of 209 (72-70-67). He had six birdies in his final round including three straight on holes 10-12.
Ludvig Granlund, competing as an individual, was the top overall finisher for the Tritons, coming in a tie for eighth at 208 (71-69-68). Granlund had eight birdies in his final round.
Trigg Lindahl came in a tie for 15th with a total score of 210 (69-72-69). Lindahl carded six birdies on Tuesday.
Logan Mayo also shot a 69 in his final round to finish 27th overall with a score of 213 (72-72-69),
Leo Baudry finished two shots behind Mayo with a 215 (72-74-69) and
Benjamin Berger shot 221 (75-71-75).
Midwestern State's Seth Bearden was the individual medalist with a total score of 203 (68-67-68) to win by two shots over Cal State San Berardino's Aaron Parayno and Missouri S&T's Isaac Chern Yi To. Lynn was crowned the team champion finishing with a total team score of 836 (284-275-277) beating Midwestern State by two shots.
UMSL is back in action next Monday and Tuesday as it travels to Findlay, Ohio, for the Doc Spragg Invitational at the Findlay Country Club.
