Men's Basketball Completes Current Homestand With Two Games This Week

SETTING THE SCENE
The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball team will close out its current four-game homestand this week with games on Tuesday and Friday. The Tritons host Concordia Seminary on Tuesday before welcoming Central Christian on Friday.

SIZING UP THE TRITONS
UMSL improved to 4-0 last Tuesday with an 89-61 win over Benedictine-Springfield in its last outing.Senior Aareon Smith averages team-bests of 16.5 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, while junior Kevin Swanson follows with 11.0 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. The Tritons are averaging 72.8 points per game on offense, which ranks second to last in the GLVC, but are second among league teams in scoring defense, surrendering just 61.0 points per game.

TRITON TIDBITS
- Senior Aareon Smith has 624 career points, which ranks 43rd on the Top 50. He has netted double figures in all four games this season and owns two double-doubles.
- UMSL leads the GLVC at the free throw line, shooting 77.9 percent.
- Aareon Smith is averaging 11.5 trips to the free throw line per game. He is 36-of-46 (.783).
- The Tritons have used the same starting lineup through the first three games of the season, including seniors Aareon Smith, Derek Shouse and Neil Branham and juniors Kevin Swanson and Derek Williams.
- Senior Derek Shouse is coming off a career-best 18 points in the win over Benedictine. He entered the game with just nine points combined in the first three contests.
