ST. LOUIS, MO. - The No. 11 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team swept Christian Brothers on Thursday in its home opener, winning 8-4 and 9-4.
The victories move the Tritons to 7-1 overall. UMSL was playing for the first time since Feb. 16 after having 14 consecutive games canceled.
Freshman
Alex Stupek finished a combined 6-for-8 at the plate with five RBIs, while junior
Brianna Butler went 3-for-3. UMSL tallied 20 hits in the two contests.
Sophomore
Hannah Perryman was the game win winner, striking out nine, while junior
Brittni Chapman collected the win in the nightcap. Freshman
Kelsey Bailey recorded saves in each contest.
The Tritons will return to the field on Saturday at NCAA Division I Southeast Missouri before traveling to Illinois Springfield on Sunday in a Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader.
