McLarty and Mueggenburg Named All-GLVC in Men’s Tennis


ST. LOUIS, MO. – Juniors Tim McLarty and Nils Mueggenburg of the University of Missouri-St. Louis men's tennis team have been named to the All-Great Lakes Valley Conference team. The league office announced the 2014 All-GLVC team at the Tennis Championship banquet on Thursday night.
 
McLarty, a repeat selection to the All-GLVC team, owns a team-best 19-4 record in singles play, including a 10-3 mark at No. 3. He posted a perfect 5-0 mark in GLVC matches and enters the league tournament having won 10 of his last 11 matches. In doubles, McLarty is 12-6, playing at the Nos. 2 and 3 spots. He has teamed with Dario Vidaurre to post an 11-3 record, including a 6-0 mark at No. 3. The duo was 4-1 in GLVC matches.
 
Mueggenburg earns All-GLVC accolades for the first time in his career. He is 12-10 in singles matches this season, including 8-6 at No. 1. In GLVC play, he posted a 3-2 mark. Mueggenburg also plays at No. 1 in doubles, where he owns a 12-9 record.  
 
UMSL is hosting the GLVC Tournament at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in Forest Park this Friday-Sunday. The Tritons begin play tomorrow at 9 a.m. against McKendree. UMSL is 11-6 overall and finished league play with a 4-1 record to secure the West Division No. 2 seed. McKendree (18-5, 3-3 GLVC) is the No. 3 seed in the East Division. The Tritons defeated the Bearcats, 6-2, on March 19.
