Five Tritons Softball Players Honored as All-Region by Daktronics, Inc.

EVANSVILLE, IND. – University of Missouri-St. Louis junior first baseman Brianna Butler has been named to the Daktronics, Inc., All-Midwest Region First Team, while four other Tritons were named to the Second Team. Those honorees include junior second baseman Katie Wood, freshman shortstop Alex Stupek, junior outfielder Jena Boudreau and sophomore pitcher Hannah Perryman.

Butler has started all 54 games and is batting .335 with 53 hits, including 13 doubles and 14 homeruns, and a team-high 45 RBIs. Her 14 homeruns are a single season record, while she has 32 career long balls, also a program-best. Butler was a Second Team All-GLVC selection this season after being a first team honoree as a freshman and a sophomore. She enters this weekend's NCAA Midwest Super Regional on a nine-game hitting streak.

Wood has also started all 54 games and is batting.331 with 53 hits, including nine doubles and 10 homeruns, 38 RBIs and 33 runs scored. She was a Second Team All-GLVC pick.

Boudreau is batting .343 and is second on the team with 61 hits, including a team-best 16 doubles. A First Team All-GLVC selection, Boudreau also has 11 homeruns, 34 RBIs and 38 runs scored.

A two-time GLVC Pitcher of the Year and two-time First Team All-GLVC selection, Perryman leads the NCAA with 13.8 strikeouts per game and is also first with 397 strikeouts this season, which shatters the single season mark of 352 she set last year. She is 28-5 in the circle with a 1.17 ERA and is limiting opponents to a .135 batting average. Perryman tossed her first collegiate perfect game in an 8-0 victory over Ohio Dominican in the second round of the NCAA Midwest Regionals. It was her fourth career no-hitter and third this season. Perryman also directed UMSL to its second straight GLVC Tournament championship with a no-hitter in a 3-0 win over Bellarmine.

UMSL is ranked No. 6 nationally in the NFCA DII Poll with an overall record of 48-6, a program record for victories. The Tritons went 3-0 in last weekend's NCAA Midwest Regional #1 to advance to this weekend's Super Regional, where they will host Wayne State.
