LAS VEGAS, NEV. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team carded 333 to open play at its own Las Vegas Desert Classic on Sunday.
The Tritons, playing in their first tournament of the spring season sit in tie for seventh place in 13-team field, which is led by Midwestern State, which fired a 314.
Junior
Joana Yanez carded a team-best 78 and is tied for seventh place, while freshman
Ares Boira was one stroke behind with a 79 and is tied for 13th place. Freshman
Stefaniya Ivanova turned in an 86 and is tied for 38th place, while senior
Bailey Hopper (90, 47th) and sophomore
Miranda Rohlfing (92, 53rd) rounded out the scoring.
Competing as individuals are sophomore
Kristin Gonzalez (81, T16th) and freshman
Alexa Capesius (86, T38th).
Marla Souvannasing of Central Oklahoma leads all individuals with a 72.
The final 18 holes will be played tomorrow.
