ResultsNOBLESVILLE, IND. - The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's golf team tied for fourth place in the final Midwest Regional event of the season at Purgatory, held Sunday and Monday.
The Tritons carded rounds of 292 and 297 for a team score of 589, six strokes behind team champion Indianapolis (295-288 - 583) in the 31-team field. The Greyhounds shaved seven strokes off their first round score to vault into first place after entering the day in a tie for fifth place. UMSL was in a tie for first place after yesterday's first round.
Junior
Colby Yates was the top UMSL finisher, tying for ninth place with a 145 (70-75), while sophomore
Matt Barry (73-75) and junior
Anthony Cope (77-71) each tied for 26th place, turning in a 148. Freshman
Markus Lindberg (75-76 - 151; T51st) and sophomore
Julien de Poyen (74-78 - 152; T64th) rounded out the scoring.
Ben Cook of Ferris State and Nick Paxos of Walsh each finished three-under par with a 141 to finish in a tie for first place individually.
The Tritons return to the links Sunday-Tuesday at the GLVC Championships in Carmel, Ind.
