ST. LOUIS, MO. – The No. 7 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team recorded wins of 4-1 and 3-1 over Williams Baptist on Tuesday afternoon in the Tritons' home opener.
UMSL improves to 18-1 overall with the victories and will host Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday in the GLVC opener. Williams Baptist falls to 7-5 overall.

The Eagles got one run back in the second inning on a solo home run, which would be their lone run of the game.

The Tritons recorded eight hits with Perryman tallying two hits and two RBIs, while senior
Erin Walker also recorded a pair of hits.

Hannah Perryman tossed the complete game, allowing seven hits, while striking out seven and walking one.
GAME 2: UMSL 3, Williams Baptist 1Freshman
Carly Kingery equaled her season-high of 12 strikeouts, while improving to 4-0 in the circle this season. Kingery scattered six hits and did not allow a free pass to the base paths.
Offensively, UMSL tallied five hits and scored all three runs early. Kern's RBI infield single scored Walker in the first inning for the quick 1-0 lead. Walker reached on a two-out stand up double before stealing third base.
Osborn brought in two more runs with a left field single in the second inning with the bases loaded and two outs as UMSL's lead grew to 3-0.
The Eagles got on the board with a solo home run in the fourth inning.
