ST. LOUIS, MO. – The No. 8 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday with a sweep of Saint Joseph's in Great Lakes Valley Conference play. The Tritons won both games in six innings, taking the opener, 8-0, and the nightcap, 9-1.
Seniors
Hannah Perryman and
Kelly McGovern were honored prior to the start and both played a key role in the victories. Perryman picked up both wins in the circle, limiting the Pumas to a combined five hits, while McGovern went 2-for-3 at the plate in the opener with an RBI.
UMSL improves to 43-4 overall, the fourth most wins in program history, and is now 21-3 in the GLVC. Saint Joseph's slips to 11-34 and 7-17 in the league.
The Tritons will host No. 1 ranked Indianapolis tomorrow in their regular season home finale. First pitch is set for 12 p.m.
GAME 1: UMSL 8, St. Joseph's 0 (6 inn.)The Tritons recorded 10 hits, including four in the fifth inning, in which they scored five runs.
Junior
Ryan Logan recorded two hits and two RBIs, tallying a solo home run in the fourth inning to make the score 2-0 and added an RBI single in the fifth for a 3-0 advantage.

Serena Olson tallied a two-run triple, while senior
Kelly McGovern added an RBI single. The fifth run came courtesy of Pumas error. McGovern and Olson both finished with two hits.
Sara Kern put the Tritons on the board in the second inning with her team-leading 11
th home run, while the final run of the game came on a squeeze bunt from sophomore
Rachel Matthies, which scored junior
Alex Stupek, who singled, stole second and advanced to third on a throwing error.
Senior
Hannah Perryman tossed the complete game shutout, surrendering just two hits and two walks, while striking out eight.
Hass GAME 2: UMSL 9, St. Joseph's 1 (6 inn.)The Tritons jumped out to an early 5-0 lead after two innings, scoring three in the first. Two came home courtesy of a Pumas throwing error, while one scored on sophomore

Reagan Osborn drove in a run, while Olson made it 5-0 on a double steal.
St. Joseph's got on the board in the sixth inning with back-to-back two-out doubles, but UMSL ended the game in home half of the frame with four runs. Freshman
Alicia Shivers recorded an RBI single and later scored on a wild pitch, while Osborn collected her second RBI of the day on a bases load hit-by-pitch. Kern's RBI single to the Pumas pitcher scored senior

UMSL recorded nine hits, including two off the bat of Olson.
H. Perryman improved to 38-2 in the circle, allowing one run on three hits. She allowed a lead of single and retired 17 straight before the sixth inning doubles. Perryman finished with six strikeouts and did not issue a walk.
