SETTING THE SCENE
UMSL heads north this week to wrap up its current four-game roadswing. The Tritons travel to No. 25 Truman State on Thursday before visiting Quincy on Saturday.
 
SIZING UP THE TRITONS
  • UMSL is 8-7 overall, which includes a 2-4 mark in the GLVC and a 2-4 record on the road.
  • UMSL is coming off a 69-64 win at McKendree on Sunday after it rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit to snap a three-game losing skid.
  • Senior Arielle Jackson (16.0 ppg) and sophomore Alex LaPorta (11.6 ppg) both average double figures.
  • LaPorta averages a GLVC-best 10.5 rebounds per game, which ranks 25th in NCAA DII.
  • Freshman Kiara Stewart is coming off her first collegiate double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds at McKendree. Stewart is averaging 6.5 boards per game, but has three straight games in double figures.
  • In GLVC-only games, UMSL owns a +6.2 rebounding margin. The Tritons have won the battle on the boards in their last eight games.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
No. 25 ranked Truman State is 14-2 overall, including 5-1 in the GLVC and 4-0 at home, and are riding a three-game win streak. Three players average double figures (all between 10.5-10.9 ppg) for a team that averages 72.7 points per game and leads the league in GLVC-only games with 8.17 three-pointers made per game. No player averages more than 25 minute per game for the Bulldogs.
 
Quincy enters a Thursday home game against Maryville with a 4-11 overall record, that includes a 2-4 GLVC mark and a 3-4 record at home.
 
SERIES HISTORIES
UMSL vs. Truman State… UMSL is 18-21 all-time against Truman State. The Bulldogs won last year's meeting, also in Kirksville, 71-66.
 
UMSL vs. Quincy… UMSL is 24-32 against Quincy, but has won five of the last seven meetings, including both contests last year (80-60 in Quincy and 91-75 at home).

UMSL plays just one game next week, hosting Maryville on Saturday the 26th to open a three-game homestand.
