SETTING THE SCENE
  • UMSL plays three games in five days, including two on the road and two against fellow nationally ranked opponents this weekend.
  • The Tritons travel to No. 1 ranked Bellarmine on Thursday before hosting No. 23 Indianapolis on Saturday and then make the short trip down I-70 to Lindenwood on Monday.
  • UMSL's game vs. UIndy on Saturday is the lone home contest in a seven-game stretch.
  • The Tritons are off to the best start in program history at 14-1 and are riding a 13-game win streak.
  • UMSL jumped five spots in this week's NABC Coaches Division II Poll, moving to No. 18. The Tritons earned the program's first ranking since the 1990-91 season last week.

WE'RE GOING STREAKING
UMSL's win streak of 13 games is the second longest active streak in NCAA DII, trailing Lincoln Memorial, who has strung together 14 straight wins.

DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE
UMSL ranks second in NCAA DII in scoring defense (58.5 ppg) and is eighth in field goal percentage defense (.393).

OTHER NATIONAL STATISTICS
UMSL is sixth in NCAA DII in rebounding margin (10.0), eighth in turnovers per game (10.1), 10th in scoring margin (19.6 ppg) and 13th in assist-turnover ratio (1.52).

UMSL enters Thursday's game with 699 overall proram victories.

ABOUT BELLARMINE
  • The Knights are 12-0 overall, including 5-0 in the GLVC.
  • Bellarmine is 7-0 at home.
  • The Knights are outscoring their opponents by an average of 22.7 points and have had just three games decided by eight points or less.

UMSL-BELLARMINE SERIES
  • UMSL is 11-23 all-time against Bellarmine.
  • The Tritons have lost six straight to the Knights, including a 66-53 decision in St. Louis last year.
  • UMSL is traveling to Louisville for the first time since the 2015-16 season.
  • The Tritons have not won in Knights Hall since a 62-59 decision during the 2004-05 season.
  • This will be the last GLVC regular season game between the two programs as Bellarmine will move to NCAA DI next year.

ABOUT INDIANAPOLIS
  • The Greyhounds enter a Thursday home game against Lindenwood with a 10-3 overall record, including a 2-3 mark in the GLVC.
  • UIndy is 2-1 in road games.

UMSL-INDIANAPOLIS SERIES
  • UMSL is 6-25 all-time against Indianapolis.
  • The Greyhounds have won 10 straight, including a 69-64 decision in Indianapolis last year.
  • Indianapolis grabbed a 77-70 overtime win during the 2017-18 season in its last visit to St. Louis.

SIZING UP THE TRITONS
  • Four players average double figures, led by junior Yaakema Rose Jr.'s 13.2 points per game. In GLVC-only games, he is averaging 17.8 points.
  • Junior Jose Grubbs adds 12.7 points per game, while redshirt senior Jason Towery follows with 11 points per game behind a team-best 34 three-pointers. Towery had just 16 long balls in his previous two seasons with the Tritons - with all of those coming last year.
  • Senior Jalen Wilkins-McCoy chips in 10.5 points per game and pulls down a team-high 6.3 boards per game.
  • UMSL's 13-game win streak is a program best, bettering the 11 straight won by the 1971-72 team.
  • The Tritons have outrebounded nine straight opponents.

After Monday's game at Lindenwood, UMSL travels to Illinois Springfield and Lewis next Thursday and Saturday.
