SETTING THE SCENE
- UMSL hits the road for the first time in GLVC play this weekend, traveling to Drury on Thursday and to new league member Southwest Baptist on Saturday.
- The Tritons are off to the best start in program history at 12-1 and are riding an 11-game win streak.
- UMSL is ranked No. 23 in this week's NABC Coaches Division II Poll, the program's first ranking since the 1990-91 season.
- The Tritons have the most wins of any team in the GLVC and own the league's longest active win streak.
WE'RE GOING STREAKING
UMSL's win streak of 11 games is the second longest active streak in NCAA DII, trailing West Chester and Lincoln Memorial, who have both strung together 13 straight wins
DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE
- UMSL ranks second in NCAA DII in scoring defense (56.8 ppg) and is fifth in field goal percentage defense (.379).
- The Tritons have held their last five opponents under 70 points.
OTHER NATIONAL STATISTICS
UMSL is fifth in NCAA DII in rebounding margin (10.5), sixth in turnovers per game (10.0) and ninth in assist-turnover ratio (1.57), scoring margin (21.2 ppg) and turnover margin (6.4).
ABOUT DRURY
- The Panthers are 8-3 overall, including 1-2 in the GLVC.
- Drury fell out of the NABC Top 25 this week after road losses at then No. 12 Southern Indiana (86-82) and McKendree (80-70) last weekend.
- The Panthers are 5-0 at home.
UMSL-DRURY SERIES
- Drury leads the all-time series 25-7 and has won 12 straight.
- UMSL has played more overtime games against Drury than any other program. The Tritons are 1-5 all-time in those games.
- UMSL has not won at Drury since a 78-61 victory in the 2011-12 GLVC opener.
ABOUT SOUTHWEST BAPTIST
- The Bearcats enter a Thursday home game against Lindenwood with a 9-2 record, including a 2-1 GLVC mark.
- Southwest Baptist is coming off a 71-69 win at then No. 12 Southern Indiana on Saturday.
- The Bearcats are second behind the Tritons in field goal percentage defense, limiting opponents to 38.7 percent shooting.
- Senior Damian Prgomet is the reigning GLVC Player of the Week, averaging 16.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks per game last weekend.
UMSL-SOUTHWEST BAPTIST SERIES
- UMSL is 5-9 all-time against Southwest Baptist.
- The two programs haven't met since the 1995-96 season. UMSL, a member of the MIAA then, won both games, including 84-75 at home, and 94-88 in overtime on the road.
SIZING UP THE TRITONS
- Four players average double figures, led by junior
Jose Grubbs' 13.5 points per game. Grubbs is shooting 50.7 percent from the field, including 42 percent (21-of-50) from three-point range.

Yaakema Rose Jr. adds 12.2 points per game, to go with 5.1 rebounds and a team-best 2.0 steals per game.

Jalen Wilkins-McCoy is averaging 11.0 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game, while shooting 56.5 percent from the field, while redshirt senior
Jason Towery is back in the starting line-up for the second straight year and is averaging 10.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. He also leads the team with 24 three-pointers.
