Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TOPEKA, KAN. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis softball team opened its season on Friday with the first two of six games at the Washburn Invitational. The Tritons lost a 3-1 decision to Sioux Falls and a 7-0 decision to Central Missouri.
 
Sioux Falls 3, UMSL 1
UMSL recorded five hits in the setback – all singles – including an RBI single by freshman Haley Remington that scored senior Carlie Kudary in the fifth.
 
Sophomore Jenna Towle suffered the loss in four and one-thirds inning of work. Junior Mimi Bradley tossed two and two-thirds scoreless innings.
 
Central Missouri 7, UMSL 0
UMSL was limited to three hits, but got a triple from junior Jessica Mrzlak, while sophomore Morgan Barnoski tallied a double.
 
The Jennies scored seven runs on eight hits.
