Triton Women, Men Swimmers Defeat William Jewell

LIBERTY, Mo. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's swimming teams combined to win 16 events on its way to posting a pair of dual-meet victories over William Jewell on Saturday afternoon at the Kresge Pool in Liberty, Mo.

The Triton women registered a 138-66 win, while the Triton men prevailed 123-82.

The women started off with a bang as the 400 medley relay team of Kate Nelson, Zara Konstapel, Kristen Stalder and Ava Boehning set a pool record with a time of 4:31.24.

Sarah Nelson was a triple winner, topping the field in the 100 free (1:01.04), the 200 free (2:13.46) and swam the third leg of the winning 400 free relay team (4:06.36) that also included Stephanie Schoemans, Madison Bottorff and K. Nelson.

Isabella Gruidl captured the 800 free with a time of 9:39.67 and the 200 back in a time of 2:25.49. Boehning was the winner of the 50 free at 27.64, Mackenzie Greenley won the 200 fly with a time of 2:26.20 and Ashleigh Baros topped the field in the 400 free in a time of 4:48.66.

The men also set a pool record as the foursome of Guillem Masjuan Roca, Austin Stevenson, Conley Savage and Aiden Clark won the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:51.41.

Stevenson captured the 50 free in a time of 23.87, Masjuan Roca won the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.76, Savage came out on top in the 200 fly at 2:06.44, Jon Osa was the winner in the 100 free in a time of 52.22, Ryan Conner took the top spot in the 200 back at 2:10.74 and Aaron Wicklund won the 200 breast with a time of 2:26.61.

UMSL returns to the pool on Friday, Nov. 18 as it takes part in the University of Chicago Phoenix Fall Invitational. The three-day event begins at 10 a.m.
