ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's cross country teams concluded its 2022 season at the NCAA Midwest Regional at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course on Saturday morning. The Triton men finished 22nd with a score of 626 points while the women were 29th with 859 points.
On the men's side,
Benjamin VandenBrink was UMSL's top runner as he finished 66th in a field of 196 runners with a time of 32:47.28.
Toby Middleton finished 101st in a time of 33:24.26.
Sam Savastino was the third Triton to cross the finish line at 34:43.29. He was followed by
Brett Lynch at 35:07.86,
Matthias Shelp and
Michael Wright at 35:24.27 and 35.29.92 respectively and
Gavin Love finished in a time of 36:05.61.
For the women,
Lily Wagemann was the top runner as she covered the six-kilometer course in a time of 24:58.43.
Peyton Brueck finished at 25:33.15,
Megan McMillen crossed the line with a time of 26:02.25 while
Ella Tynan and
Kayley Heeter finished at 26:11.37 and 26.21.72 respectively.
The men finished their season with four top 10 finishes as a team while the women had three top 10 finishes as a team.
