ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's swimming teams dropped a dual meet at McKendree on Friday afternoon at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex in O'Fallon, Ill.
The Triton men were defeated by the score of 207-82 while the Triton women lost 174-107.
UMSL won two events on the men's side and had seven second place finishes in the dual.
Conley Savage won the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:55.35 while
Jon Osa was the winner in the 50 free at 21.21 seconds.
Austin Stevenson was the runner up in the 100 breast touching the wall at 57.62 seconds. Savage was second in the 200 fly finishing at 1:52.94 and in the 200 back at 1:56.86,
Aiden Clark turned in a personal best swim of 1:57.48 to finish second in the 200 IM.
The Triton 200 medley relay team of Osa, Stevenson, Savage and
David Reynolds finished second at 1:30.55 and the 400 free relay team of Osa, Stevenson,
Guillem Masjuan Roca and Reynolds came in second with a time of 3:08.98.
The UMSL women won four individual events and a relay, were the runners-up in six events and had seven third place finishes.
Franziska Hauptmann won the 200 back in a time of 2:09.70, was third in the 50 free at 25.39 seconds and third in the 200 IM finishing at 2:16.60.
Zara Konstapel was the winner in the 100 breast with a time of 1:07.24 and was second in the 200 breast finishing at 2:30.02.
Stephanie Schoemans took the top spot in the 100 back with a time of 1:00.19 and finished third in the 100 fly at 1:01.01.
Mackenzie Greenley won the 200 fly with a time of 2:13.10.
Kate Nelson was the runner up in the 200 IM touching the wall at 2:15.55,
Ava Boehning took second in the 100 and 200 back with times of 1:00.70 and 2:13.01 respectively.
Kristen Stalder was the runner up in the 100 fly with a time of 1:00.95.
The 200 medley relay team of Nelson, Konstapel, Stalder and Boehning won the race in a time of 1:49.63.
The Tritons compete in their final competition before the GLVC Championships hosting Truman State on Saturday (Jan. 21) at 12 p.m. at the UMSL Swimming Pool. The team will honor its 16 seniors prior to the start of the meet.
