Four Tritons Claim All-GLVC Accolades

ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball team had four players named to the All-GLVC Team the league office announced on Wednesday.

Jalysa Stokes earned First Team All-Conference honors, Kiara Stewart was a Second Team selection while Amaya Blake and Morgan Ramthun were named to the All-Freshmen team.

Stokes, an All-Freshman team selection last year, led the Tritons in scoring this season and was second in the conference with her 17.4 points per game. She reached double figures in scoring 22 times this season highlighted by a career-high 38 points against Illinois Springfield in January. She was named the GLVC's Player of the Week after averaging 31.3 points in the span of three games.

Stewart was named to the All-Conference team for the third straight season. She earned second team honors in 2020-21 and first team accolades last season. Stewart led the team in rebounding this season with 9.7 per contest which was also good for second in the conference while her 10.6 points per game were fourth on the team. She reached double figures in scoring 14 times highlighted by a career-high 22 points against Southwest Baptist on Feb. 2.

Ramthun finished the season second on the team in scoring and rebounding with 11.3 and 6.9 per game respectively. She started all 26 games this season and reached double figures in scoring 18 times highlighted by a career-high 18-point performance against Lewis back in December. Ramthun grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds in the double overtime win over the Flyers in January.

Blake appeared in 26 games with 24 starts in her freshman campaign. She led the team with 40 assists while her 11.0 points per game was third best on the team. Her 24 steals were second only to Stokes who finished the season with 31. Blake reached double figures in scoring 13 times this season highlighted by a career-high 27-point performance at Lewis in January.

UMSL finished its season with a record of 9-17 overall and was 7-13 in the GLVC.
