INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's swimming team picked up six All-Americans on Friday on the fourth day of the 2023 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis.
Osa matched his school record time of 47.66 seconds in the morning prelim as he finished third in the fourth heat swimming out of lane six. He finished seventh overall to qualify for the championship final. Osa swam out of lane one in the evening final and earned the highest finish for a Triton since the program was brought back in 2014.
Savage broke his school record in the 200 fly finishing fourth in heat four swimming out of lane six with a time of 1:46.95. He finished ninth overall in the prelims to qualify for the consolation final. Savage swam out of lane four in the consolation final and finished fifth in the race with a time of 1.47.79. He finished 13th overall in the event to earn All-America honorable mention honors.
UMSL's 200 free relay team of Osa,
Austin Stevenson,
Aiden Clark and
David Reynolds finished 15th overall with a time of 1:21:05 to earn All-America honorable mention honors.
The Tritons are back in action on Saturday for the final day of the Swimming and Diving Championships. Osa and Savage will swim in the second heat of the 200 back while the 400 free relay team will compete in the finals in the evening session.
