ST. LOUIS – The University of Missouri-St. Louis women's tennis team wrapped its season with a match against Lewis on Saturday afternoon at the UMSL Tennis Courts.
The Flyers (12-6, 3-1 GLVC) led the match 3-2 with two singles contests still being played when play was suspended due to weather. The match won't be finished and is a no contest.
Lewis won two of the three doubles matches and was leading in the third when the doubles point was clinched.
Anna Domingo and
Anna Favaron lost to Sage Hills and Anabel Aguilar 6-0 while
Lisa Kirr and
Kaitlyn Challis were defeated by Grace Sueflohn and Jovana Vujanic 6-3.
The Tritons got wins from Tse and Kirr in singles play to tie the match at two. Tse defeated Benedetta Luccone 6-4, 6-1 while Kirr handed Aguilar a 6-1, 6-2 defeat. The Flyers got wins from Casey Smith as she beat Domingo 6-3, 6-3 and Salenko knocked off Lietzau 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, 7-5. Favaron dropped the opening set to Hills 7-5 but was leading in set two 4-3 when play was suspended. Challis and Vujanic were tied 5-5 in their first set when play was halted.
UMSL finishes its season with a record of 7-8, 0-4 GLVC.
