SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The No. 25 University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team opened play at the NCAA DII East Regional on Monday by shooting a 317 at Panther Creek Golf Club in Springfield, Ill.
The Tritons sit in a tie for sixth place and are seven strokes behind fifth place Tiffin. Findlay leads the field of 15 teams after shooting a 284.
All participants in the East Regional will compete through 54 holes of competition. The top six teams, along with the top two individuals not with one of those teams will advance to the NCAA Championships May 16-20 at Fox Run Golf Club in Eureka, Mo.
Freshman
Wilma Zanderau shot a 77 to pace UMSL and is tied for 24th.
The Tritons begin teeing off on Tuesday at 9:40 a.m. for their second round.
