BOLIVAR, Mo. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's cross country teams opened its 2023 season on Friday evening at the Southwest Baptist Bearcat Invite at the Bolivar Golf Course in Bolivar, Mo. The men finished fifth with 121 points while the women were eighth with 219 points.
For the men,
Benjamin VandenBrink and
Jacob Warner finished in the top 10 at fourth and ninth respectively. VandenBrink finished in a time of 19:41.66 while Warner came in at 19:58.79.
Toby Middleton finished with a time of 21:01.00 and was followed by
Sam Savastino at 21:14.46,
Sebastian Meyer crossed the line at 21:23.06,
Gavin Love finished at 21:27.26 and Julio Cruz came in at 21:35.01.
Lily Wagemann was the top finisher for the Tritons on the women's side as she finished the five- kilometer race in a time of 19:50.26.
Kayley Heeter finished right behind here at 19:55.33.
Megan McMillen finished at 22:33.51,
Ella Tynan came in at 23:28.20,
Zoey Losch crossed the line at 24:54.03 and
McKenna Kramer finished with a time of 27:20.16.
UMSL returns to the course on Friday, September when it competes at the Bradley Intercollegiate at Detweiler Park in Peoria, Ill.
