COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up the regular season hosting the Brian T. Simpson Invite at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo., on Saturday. The Triton men finished fourth out of 14 teams with a score of 116 points while the women took ninth out of 16 teams with 256 points.
UMSL's men were led by junior
Will Kaempfe who finished 12th in the 8-kilometer race with a time of 25:28.86. Junior
Toby Middleton finished right behind Kaempfe in 14th place at 25:30.20. Freshman
Luke Stevenson and fifth-year senior
Benjamin VandenBrink were 31st and 32nd overall with times of 26:08.75 and 26:10.76 respectively. Sophomore
Emmett Johnson came in at 26:15.46 followed by sophomore
Rafael Montemayor at 26:45.29 and sophomore
Caleb Leach rounded out the scoring with a time of 26:50.40.
UMSL's women were led by fifth-year senior
Kayley Heeter who finished the 5-kilometer race with a time of 19:44.81. She was followed by freshman
Bridget Ragan at 20:26.54 and junior
Ella Tynan in a time of 20:49.20. Sophomore
Bella Massaro finished at 21:01.04, junior
Lily Wagemann crossed the line at 21:09.90, sophomore
Ansley Casey had a time of 23:13.48 and sophomore
Zoey Losch finished at 26:53.58.
The Tritons are back in action on Saturday (Oct. 26) traveling to Springfield, Ill., to compete in the 2024 Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships. The men's 8K race begins at 9:30 a.m. followed by the women's 6K run at 10:30 a.m.
