SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men's cross country team recorded a fourth place finish and had an all-conference performer in
Jacob Warner on Saturday morning at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Cross Country Championships at the UIS Cross Country Course.
Warner covered the eight-kilometer course in a personal best time of 24:26.00 to finish in seventh place earning one of the 20 all-conference spots as a result. He was 12th at the mile mark before moving as high as third midway through the race before setting in at seventh for the latter stages of the race.
Toby Middleton finished in 22nd place with a personal best time of 24:54.21, while
Will Kaempfe was 28th at 25:03.49 which was a personal record and
Benjamin VandenBrink was in 33rd in 25:22.15.
Emmett Johnson rounded out UMSL's top five with a 37th place finish in 25:25.25, while the other two scoring spots went to
Luke Stevenson at 25:56.81 and
Caleb Leach at 25:57.55.
Lewis captured the team championship with a score of 34 points and had four of the top nine runners in the 170-runner race as it finished 34 points in front of Drury. Lewis' Evan Horgan captured the individual title in 23:23.64 ahead of UIndy's Felix Rivet.
The Tritons finished with 110 points in the meet.
UMSL will take part in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional in Romeoville, Ill., on Nov. 9.
