ST. LOUIS – Eight University of Missouri-St. Louis tennis student-athletes have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team that was announced on Tuesday.
Representing the Tritons are
Anna Domingo,
Anna Favaron,
Raphael Kerndl,
Maja Lietzau,
Jose Mayorga,
Marcos Navas,
Tanin Ramnath and
Hannah Tse.
To be eligible for Academic All-District and Academic All-America honors, a student-athlete needs to have appeared in at least 70 percent of the team's scored matches and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
Domingo, a mechanical engineering major, went 11-10 in singles play and was 8-11 in doubles action overall. She finished the year with a 9-9 record in dual matches at number one singles and was 6-10 with Lietzau in doubles dual matches.
Favaron, a mechanical engineering major, finished the season with a 9-8 mark in singles play and went 10-11 in doubles competition. She was 7-7 in dual matches at number five singles and went 8-10 in doubles dual matches with primary partner
Lauren Sweeney.
Kerndl, a sports management major, competed in 20 matches on the singles side this season primarily playing in the number two singles spot with a record of 12-8. He partnered with
Juan Vigil at number one doubles finishing with a record of 6-13.
Lietzau, an international business major, had a 12-9 record this year in singles play including 11-8 in dual matches at number two singles and partnered with Domingo at number one doubles.
Mayorga, a civil engineering major, competed in 22 matches on the singles side this season primarily playing in the number one singles position. He partnered with
Joshua Mackey to form the number two doubles tandem that went 11-10 this season.
Navas, a mechanical engineering major, had an overall record of 6-10 in singles play with many of his matches coming in the number five singles spot where he was 5-4 including 4-1 in GLVC competition. He teamed up with Ramnath to form the number three doubles team going 6-9 overall including 3-2 in league play.
Ramnath, a mechanical engineering major, finished the season with a 10-6 singles record in dual matches and went 5-2 from the number six singles position and was 3-0 in conference play. He had a record of 9-11 in doubles dual matches primarily playing with Navas.
Tse, a sports management major, led the Tritons in wins with 13 this past season and was 11-7 in dual matches including 4-0 in GLVC play at number three singles. She finished the year with a doubles record of 15-5 including 13-4 in doubles dual matches primarily partnering with
Aleksandra Lopez.
Academic All-District honorees who advanced to the CSC Academic All-America Ballot. First-, second and third team Academic All-America honorees will be announced June 4 (women) and June 5 (men).
