ST. LOUIS – University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golfer
Wilma Zanderau punched her ticket to the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships with her seventh-place finish at the NCAA East Regional on Wednesday at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel, Ind. The Tritons finished sixth overall with a 54-hole total score of 947 (317-315-315).
Zanderau along with Illinois Springfield's Elaine Grant were the highest finishers with a non-advancing team and will compete at the NCAA Championships, May 21-25 in Orlando, Fla., at Orange County National Golf Club on the Panther Lake Course.
Zanderau shot a 74 in her final round on Wednesday and finished with a score of 226.
Juliette Lecomte turned in a score of 82 to finish in a tie for 41st at 240 while
Ebba Wernered shot a 78 to finish with a final score of 241 and in a tie for 44th.
Grand Valley State's Olivia Stoll was the individual medalist finishing with a score of 223 and defeated Findlay's Mary Kelly Mulcahy by one stroke. The Oilers were crowned the East Regional champs defeating UIndy in a playoff.
