ST. LOUIS – The No. 23 University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team is in fourth place with a total team score of 560 (323-237) after the first day of the Intercollegiate at Nemacolin at Mystic Rock Golf Club in Farmington, Pa. Play was suspended due to darkness with four holes to play.
Emmy Wahl leads the way for the Tritons with a 32-hole score of 139 (81-58) and is in a tie for 11th place overall.
Wilma Zanderau shot an 82 in her opening round but is currently at 59 in her second round and is tied for 17th.
Hillary Currier was the leader for UMSL after a first round 75 but is currently 11 over in the second round.
Mayan Covarrubias and
Brooke Inchiostro are tied for 30th and 32nd respectively. Covarrubias shot an 85 in her opening round and is at 60 in round two while Inchiostro shot a 76 in the morning session and is also at 60 in round two.
Hope Williams, competing as an individual, is 27 over par with four holes to play.
North Georgia's Cora Mount and Grand Valley State's June Hsiao are tied atop the player leaderboard at one over par. The Lakers are the leaders with a total team score of 635 (301-234).
Tuesday's final day tees off at 8 a.m. (CDT) with the resumption of round two with the start of round three to follow.
UMSL also sent three individuals to play in the McKendree Bearcat Dual Gender at Far Oaks Golf Club in Caseyville, Ill.
Josefina Hansson is in 10th place halfway through the second round at nine over par,
Alaina Ervin is tied for 29th at +16 and
Abigail Ante is tied for 48th at 24 over par.
The teams will play the conclusion of round two and then head straight into round three. The competition resumes at 8 a.m.
