FINDLAY, Ohio – The No. 19 University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team finished sixth out of 16 teams with a 54-hole total team score of 930 (312-314-304) on Tuesday at the William Beall Fall Classic at the Findlay Country Club in Findlay, Ohio.
Wilma Zanderau and
Emmy Wahl each finished in the top 10 of the event. Zanderau shot 228 (77-76-75) to finish ninth while Wahl was a shot behind here at 229 (74-79-76) to finish tied for 10th.
Mayan Covarrubias was tied for 33rd at 237 (81-81-75).
Hope Williams and
Brooke Inchiostro, competing as an individual, were tied for 41st at 239. Williams shot a 78 on Tuesday to finish with rounds of 80-81-78 while Inchiostro finished with scores of 77-83-79.
Hillary Currier finished with a score of 247 (87-78-82).
Ferris State's Kamryn Shannon was the individual medalist defeating Findlay's Ashleigh Duflo in a playoff that lasted six holes. They each parred the first five holes of the playoff and then Shannon parred the final hole while Duflo settled for a bogey. Duflo birded her final two holes to force the playoff while Shannon got up and down from 70 yards out on her final hole to save par and get in the playoff.
Findlay was crowned the team champions with a total team score of 894 (298-287-299).
The Tritons are back in action next Monday and Tuesday competing in the LeeAnn Noble Memorial at Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega, Ga.
