ST. LOUIS – The No. 25 University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team remained atop the latest NCAA Division II Midwest Region Volleyball rankings announced Wednesday afternoon by the NCAA.
The top eight teams in the region will advance to the NCAA Division II National Tournament, Dec. 4-6. Automatic bids are granted to the winners of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Postseason Tournaments with the five remaining spots awarded on an at-large basis.
The Tritons captured the GLVC regular season title last weekend with wins over William Jewell and Rockhurst and sits atop the Midwest Regional Rankings at 23-4 overall. The top five teams in the poll remained the same as last week with Findlay second, Ferris State third, Ohio Dominican fourth, Wayne State (Mich.) fifth. The biggest change was Quincy and Rockhurst switching spots for sixth and seventh.
UIndy and Cedarville held their respective spots at eighth and ninth respectively. Northern Michigan State sits 10th in the region. The NCAA selection show is set for Monday, November 24th at 6:30 p.m. (CST) on NCAA.com.
UMSL is the top seed in this weekend's GLVC Volleyball Tournament in Williamsville, Ill. The Tritons face No. 8 seed Lewis on Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the first round.
