ST. LOUIS – The No. 25 University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team had six players earn All-Great Lakes Valley Conference honors and collected three of the four major awards, it was announced by the league office on Thursday evening. The annual awards were presented at a ceremony on the eve of the GLVC Volleyball Championship Tournament.

Senior setter Caitlin Bishop was named the GLVC's Player of the Year for the second time in her career. It marks the fifth time in the last six years the Tritons have had the Player of the Year in the conference. Junior libero Skylar Weaver was named the Libero of the Year and joins Megan Woll in winning that honor. Head Coach Ryan Young was selected by his peers as the GLVC Coach of the Year for the third time in four years and fourth in his career.

Bishop and Weaver were two of five UMSL players to earn First-Team All-GLVC accolades. Senior middle hitter Iyannah Jackson, sophomore rightside hitter Alayna Santel and sophomore outside hitter Maggie Johnson joined Bishop and Weaver on the first team, while senior middle hitter Hannah Copeland landed on the second team.

Bishop won seven GLVC Setter of the Week awards this season including five in a row. She joins Charlotte Richards as the only Triton player to be named Player of the Year multiple times in their career. Bishop currently leads Division II in assists per set at 12.39 and is third in total assists (1,177) in 95 sets played. She quarterbacks the top offense in the GLVC with UMSL first in points per set (18.28), kills per set (14.92) and assists per set (14.09) as well as tied for first in hitting percentage (.259).
