Beard Earns First Team All-America Honors With Fourth Place Finish in 1,000 Free

ST. LOUIS – University of Missouri-St. Louis sophomore swimmer Justice Beard earned First Team All-America honors with her fourth-place finish in the 1,000 freestyle on Wednesday evening on the second day of the NCAA Division II Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis.

Beard swimming in the final of five heats swam out of lane six and finished with a time of 9:55.52 to earn the third All-America honor and second first team accolade of her career. She was an honorable mention All-American in the 1,000 free a year ago finishing 11th overall.

With her finish, Beard scored 15 points for the Tritons and they're in 19th place heading into day three on Thursday.

Beard will swim in the prelims of the 200 freestyle in the morning session which is scheduled to get underway at 9 a.m. (CDT). The finals for the 200 free begin at 4:30 p.m. (CDT) tomorrow evening.
