ST. LOUIS – The No. 20 University of Missouri-St. Louis women's golf team won its second event of the season finishing first in the UMSL Spring Invitational with a final score of 869 (288-292-289) on Monday at Norwood Hills Country Club in St. Louis.
The Tritons had six players finish in the top 20 in the tournament and were led by
Wilma Zanderau who finished second overall with a 54-hole score of 214 (70-73-71).
Mayan Covarrubias finished in a tie for third at 215 (73-71-71) while
Emmy Wahl took sixth with a score of 219 (70-72-77).
Hillary Currier tied for 10th at 226 (75-77-74),
Juliette Lecomte was tied for 15th with a score of 228(79-76-73) and
Brooke Inchiostro, competing as an individual, shot a 229 (79-73-77) and was tied for 18th.
UMSL won the team title by 29 shots over UIndy and Tiffin's Lisa Marie Schumacher finished eagle, birdie on 17 and 18 to win medalist honors with a 54-hole score of 212 (74-69-69).
The Tritons return to the course beginning next Friday for the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship tournament at Oakwood Country Club in Coal Valley, Ill.
