ST. LOUIS – University of Missouri-St. Louis men's basketball coach
Bob Sundvold has announced additions to his staff for the 2025-26 season. Joining the Tritons will be
Mark Moore and former Triton
Trever Moore.
"We are excited to have
Javis Flynn, return for his fifth season on our UMSL coaching staff," Sundvold said. He has been instrumental in our three NCAA Appearances and GLVC conference success the past four years.
"We are happy to have Mark Moore and his wife, Reece, join our basketball family," Sundvold added. "Mark is a rising young coach who can build relationships with players and provide energy and enthusiasm to our basketball team. His year at Idaho gave him an introductory look at coaching college basketball and will certainly add to his experience."
M. Moore comes to UMSL from the University of Idaho where he was a graduate assistant last season with the Vandals. Moore was part of a staff that helped guide Idaho to a 14-19 record including 8-11 in the Big Sky Conference.
M. Moore played four years for head coach Chris Bunch at Webster University. He appeared in 64 games with nine starts during his career as a Gorlok averaging 5.1 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. His best season came as a sophomore when he averaged 8.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, 24 assists and recorded 19 steals.
T. Moore was a four-year member of the Tritons and was a part of the GLVC Championship winning squad in 2022 and the 2023 team that won the Midwest Regional title and advanced to the Elite Eight. During his playing career at UMSL, the Tritons won 90 games, advanced to three NCAA Tournaments and played in three GLVC Championship contests.
T. Moore played in 102 games with six starts in his Triton career scoring 381 points, grabbing 154 rebounds, handed out 80 assists and recorded 53 steals. He finished his career at Columbia College. T. Moore was a sport management major.
"Trever comes back to UMSL as a coach while working toward his graduate degree," Sundvold said. "He will certainly help our guys with a former Triton's perspective, knowledge, and insight.
UMSL went 21-12 last season and advanced to the GLVC Championship contest and Midwest Regional final. The Tritons open their 2025-26 season on Saturday (Nov. 1) against Northwest Missouri State in the D2CCA Tip-Off Classic at 7 p.m. at the St. Joseph Civic Arena in St. Joseph, Mo. UMSL's home opener will be on Wednesday (Nov. 26) hosting Kentucky Wesleyan at 1 p.m. at the Mark Twain Building.
